MASON CITY – Mason City Police were dispatched to the Globe Gazette, 300 North Washington Avenue, on Monday, September 19, at 2:38 p.m., to take a report for theft. It was said that cameras were missing. Police were on the scene investigating until 3:03 PM.
Globe Gazette employee Patricia Lenning reported the theft and Annie Marie Duff, Supervisor of the Distribution Department, was later arrested for Theft in the 5th Degree.
Theft in the Fifth Degree is theft of value not over $200 and is a Serious Misdemeanor.
The arresting officer was contacted, “I can’t really say much more than what is on the report.”
He was asked if the missing cameras were of low quality, being under $200, he said, “I don’t think so, it was their estimate”.
In contacting Annie Duff, she said, “I haven’t said anything so far, so I’ll just say ‘no comment'”.
