Cerro Gordo County Supervisors met Wednesday and denied the sale of county-owned land to Croell Redi-Mix.|Cerro Gordo County Supervisors met Wednesday and denied the sale of county-owned land to Croell Redi-Mix. The price of the land, just to the east of Lark Avenue outside Mason City city limits, was $159,000. A larger than usual crowd attended the meeting, many of them business owners near the land Croell wants to buy. There was some clapping once the supervisors voted 3-0 to deny the land sale.

The supervisors seemed to feel that the location just wasn’t a good fit for Croell’s operation to locate to. Watch the accompanying video to hear their reasoning.

North Iowa Corridor Executive Director Brent Willett told NorthIowaToday.com that the EDC has been working with Croell on site selection and will continue to assist them in finding the right location for their operation. “We want to make sure we help them in any way we can to find the best location possible,” he said.

Among other business tended to, the supervisors OK’d cooperation with two more counties, Delaware and Winneshiek, with the Precinct Atlas software that helps with local elections.
