North Iowa Bucks to open season Saturday in Mason City

The North Iowa Bucks plays the first official game of their season April 30th at 6 p.m. on the east field near Mohawk Stadium versus The Minnesota Silverbacks. The North Iowa Bucks are a start-up semi-pro football team in the Southern Plains Football League, with teams participating from Minnesota, South Dakota, and now Iowa with the addition of the Bucks.

The goal of producing a local team, has been to offer the game of football to individuals above the high-school level, and to athletes who love the game of football and want to continue to partipate in the game in our local area. With NIACC dropping football from its sports offerings, the hope is that this will create an opportunity for some of those college level athletes to continue to compete in the game, who still have a strong passion for it.

The Bucks hope to be a great source of family entertainment for Northern Iowa, and the surrounding communities, and hope to see great community support in its up coming season. Get out and show your support for this exciting new addition to North Iowa.

The N.I. Bucks continue to seek sponsors, and would like to add a special thanks to the Youth Task Force for its contributions and support in helping get this season under way.
