This session a proposal seeks to close 39 workforce offices around the state, including the Floyd Charles City office. This would make the process of searching for a job even more difficult for the more than 100,000 Iowans looking for work.
Most of the offices which could be closed are in rural areas. In fact, some communities with the highest unemployment rates would lose their offices. That’s bad news for local workers who need help with such things as job placement and interviewing skills.
