City Council to hold work session, discuss past due water bill owed by fairgrounds

The Mason City City Council will hold a work session Tuesday afternoon at 4 PM at City Hall.|The Mason City City Council will hold a work session Tuesday afternoon at 4 PM at City Hall.

Among the topics of discussion are an outstanding water bill owed to the City from The North Iowa Fairgrounds, a discussion on PGI or the Pyrotechnics Guild International, and the status of Council Goals and Priorities from 2010.

NorthIowaToday.com contacted City Hall regarding the water bill issue at the Fairgrounds, and was told by Kevin Jacobson, Finance Director, that “I can not give you specifics on what the fairgrounds owes but can tell you they have an outstanding balance. I can tell you they are our customer, but can’t give you information on what they owe the city.”

The Pyrotechnics Guild International held a convention in Mason City at the Fairgrounds in 2009. A call to the Pyrotechnics Guild International confirms that they plan on coming back to Mason City, but not until 2014 or 2015.

NorthIowaToday.com will have more on the work session once it is complete.
