A Clear Lake man ended up in the west ditch along I-35 when the brakes on his van malfunctioned.
Mark Vanderploeg, 40, was driving south on I-35 at 7:45 PM on January 2 when he lost control of his 2003 Chevy Express van. The van then rolled into the west ditch.
Vanderploeg was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. A passenger in the vehicle, Beverly Grell, 61, was injured in the accident and was also wearing a seatbelt. The extent of her injuries was not known.
The van sustained about $5000 in damage.|
