Mason City police officers responded to a silent alarm late Thursday night at the Holiday Inn Express currently under construction at 3041 4th Street South West.
While searching the building, officers found Mark William Hobbs (50) of Mason City hiding in a bathtub in a third floor guest room of the hotel.
Hobbs was arrested and booked for burglary in the third degree, a class D felony. Hobbs is being held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
Deputies from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
