Village Cooperative is a senior citizen complex that faced a battle from nearby homeowners in Pebble Creek to even be built. The Pebble Creek Homeowners Association had used court orders and other measures to try to prevent zoning changes that eventually allowed the project to go forward.
Today’s open house showed just how popular with senior citizens the complex has become since residents began moving in in late September of this year. “There’s only seven units still available,” out of about fifty, said building manager Marcy Ballantyne. “Everyone is super excited about our community,” said Mary Beth Greenan, sales manager.
Seniors and other visitors were allowed to tour open units and the other amenities in the complex to see for themselves the quality of construction and get a feel for how the community was coming together. Among the features at Village Cooperative is underground parking, a car wash, a club room, guest suite, reading areas, planting areas and a fitness center.
