Mason City, IA, December 7, 2010 ñ The North Iowa Diversity Appreciation Team (NIDAT) has created a resource directory for the 14 counties in North Iowa in English and Spanish. The resource directory is available at www.northiowadiversity.org. NIDAT hopes that this will serve as a source of information for the citizens of North Iowa and any newcomers to the area. The directory includes contact information for local government, education, employment, health, legal resources, housing, thrift stores, transportation, and other basic needs. The resource directory was created so that there was one place that listed all the resources available to North Iowa.
The Resource Directory covers the following counties:
Cerro Gordo County
Palo Alto County
NIDAT serves Mason City and surrounding communities in North Iowa. The team meets the second Wednesday of each month from 4:00 ñ 5:00 p.m. on the second floor of the City Hall, Mason City. Everyone is welcome to attend. NIDAT is always looking for new members with new ideas.
Some events sponsored by NIDAT each year are the Annual Ethnic Lunch by the Park in September, the Annual Embracing Diversity in North Iowa Awards, and the Annual Embracing Diversity Art and Writing Contest.
The Mission of NIDAT is to work to inspire and empower the diverse population of North Iowa to recognize, value, and respect all people. Our vision is to be an integral partner in the success of the community embracing diversity.|
