MASON CITY – Nighttime hockey and ice skating is about to return to Mason City as lights are installed at a local park.
The skating rink near Big Blue and Lester Milligan park in Mason City will soon have lights. The lights are on-site at the rink but awaiting installation. Apparently, digging for the lights could start as soon as Thursday, Sept. 30. At any rate, as soon as Alliant Energy ok’s the installation, the lights will be completed and in operation.
The lights will be in operation until 11pm in the evening and then available to be operated at ten minute intervals with the push of a button.
