ALGONA — Gary Lee Miller, 73, of Algona, died October 21, 2026, at Kossuth Regional Health Center, leaving family and friends with memories of a man who devoted nearly five decades to his work and enjoyed sharing the vegetables he grew.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 26, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lentz Funeral Home, 403 E. McGregor Street in Algona. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Algona. Lentz Funeral Home of Algona is handling arrangements.

Gary was born August 18, 1953, in Humboldt, the son of Maurice and Alice (Stoddard) Miller. He graduated from Algona High School in 1971 and went on to work at Universal Manufacturing for more than 49 years.

Away from work, Gary enjoyed cars. Two blue vehicles he owned held a special place among his favorites: a 1969 Chevelle and a 1976 Monte Carlo.

Bowling was another pastime, and he participated in leagues at the bowling alley in Algona. At home, he tended a vegetable garden and shared its produce with friends and family. He also enjoyed keeping four fish tanks and finding a good deal while shopping.

Gary is survived by his siblings, LaDonna Miller, Mark Miller, Denise (Greg) Hilbert, Barb (Larry) Fox and Michele Berte, all of Algona; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Cheryl and Dennis Miller; and his brother-in-law, Bill Berte.

Family and friends may share condolences and memories through Gary Miller’s tribute page at Lentz Funeral Home.
