RYL Classic 35K Review: Does the Candy Flavor Match the Hype

I’ll be honest. When I first saw the RYL Classic 35K, I almost passed on it. A leather-textured body and a tiny dangling charm felt like style over substance, and I’ve been burned by good-looking disposables before. But I had an afternoon free, I picked up the Rainbow flavor, and I figured I’d give it a fair shot.

Spoiler: I’m glad I did.

What is RYL Classic 35K Vape?

The RYL Classic 35K is a pre-filled disposable vape. There’s no refilling, no coil swapping, and no settings to dig through. You charge it with USB-C, vape it, and replace it when the juice runs out. Simple.

What sets it apart from the average disposable is a few small things that add up:

  • 16.5mL of e-liquid, which is noticeably more than most competitors in this class
  • Two power modes, soft and boost, controlled by a switch on the body
  • A leather-textured finish that genuinely feels different from standard plastic
  • A detachable charm that you can wear on the device, hang off a bag, or just take off

Before I get into flavor, one thing worth saying: the 35,000 puff rating on the box is a best-case estimate. Lab conditions and real life don’t match. The 16.5mL tank is a better indicator of how long this lasts, and for a daily vaper, it’s solid. You can check the full specs and the current flavor lineup on the RYL Vapes website before you buy.

The Design: More Than Packaging

I’m usually the first to dismiss cosmetic upgrades, but the leather texture here is legitimately nice. It’s soft, it grips well, and it doesn’t feel like a gimmick. After a few hours of use, it still felt comfortable in my hand, which isn’t always the case with disposables.

The mouthpiece is slightly wider than average. It sounds like a small thing, but if you vape for any extended stretch, you notice it. It doesn’t dig into your lip. LED display screen is on its side; you can check the e-liquid and battery levels at a glance.

It looks really like a fashionable bag. The charm jingles while you vape, which is distracting. If you don’t like it, you can take it off.

Soft Mode vs. Boost Mode

This is where I think RYL got something right. A lot of disposables claim multiple modes, but the difference is barely noticeable. Not here.

Soft mode is smooth and controlled. The draw feels relaxed, the flavor comes through clearly, and it’s easy to use all day without getting overwhelmed. It also extends your battery and e-liquid life, so if runtime matters to you, this is your default setting.

Boost mode is a different experience. It hits harder, the flavor gets louder, and the nicotine lands faster. With 50mg nicotine salt in this device, that jump is real. I’d recommend boost mode for moments rather than all-day use. It burns through juice quickly.

One thing I noticed across both modes: no dry hits, no burnt taste, no harshness. That consistency matters with sweet flavors, which can sometimes turn rough when sweetener builds up on the coil.

Rainbow Flavor: Skittles in Vapor Form

I expected Rainbow to be vague. That’s usually what happens with candy blend flavors. You get something sweet that doesn’t taste like anything specific, and you finish the session vaguely disappointed.

Rainbow isn’t that.

The first pull tasted like a bag of Skittles, specifically the pink ones. It’s bright, fruity, and very sweet. Over time, the individual candy notes shift and blend, but the Skittles character stays front and center. If I had to describe it to someone who hasn’t tried it: fruity candy, no ice, no tobacco, no complexity. Just fun.

Here’s the honest breakdown:

  • Sweetness: High. Around an 8 out of 10. This is the defining trait.
  • Ice: None at all. Pure candy sweetness.
  • In soft mode: Smooth, clear, and well-balanced.
  • In boost mode: Louder and fuller, but still enjoyable.

If you love sweet flavors, you’ll probably reach for this one more than you planned to. I did.

If you don’t, skip it. Rainbow doesn’t hide its sweetness. It leads with it.

The Score: 8.6/10

The RYL Classic 35K Rainbow is a well-put-together disposable that delivers on its main promise. The Rainbow flavor is genuinely good, the dual-mode system actually works, and the leather finish makes the device feel more premium than its price suggests.

The screen is a real weak point, and I wish it were easier to read. The puff count claim is optimistic. The charm is fun but noisy.

None of that changes the fact that this is one of the better candy-flavor disposables I’ve tried. It’s well built, it lasts, and Rainbow is the kind of flavor that keeps you coming back.

Who it’s for: Anyone who loves sweet, candy-forward vapes and wants a stylish portable device that lasts more than a couple of days.

Start in soft mode. Give it a few pulls before you form an opinion. Then try boost mode and see which you prefer. You can also browse other Classic 35K flavors at RYL Vapes if Rainbow isn’t your style.

For adults 21+ only. Contains nicotine, which is addictive. Not intended for non-smokers.
