FOREST CITY — Marcia Roewe Wubben, 78, died peacefully on the morning of October 11, 2026, surrounded by her husband and children, leaving a family who cherished her compassion and devotion.

Cremation has taken place. No service arrangements were listed in the obituary provided by the funeral home.

Born March 23, 1948, to Joseph and Lois Roewe, Marcia grew up on the family farm near Laurens. She attended Laurens High School, where she played violin in the orchestra. She joined 4-H at age 10 and participated in Methodist Youth Fellowship throughout high school.

Her interests also took her into public life. Active in the Libertarian Party, Marcia ran for governor of Iowa in 1982, according to her family’s obituary.

Professionally, she spent much of her working life in computer and systems roles for several companies. After marrying Alan Wubben in 2000, she moved to Northern Iowa and eventually settled in Forest City. She worked for the Methodist Church there until retiring.

Family remained central to Marcia’s life. She delighted in being a mother and grandmother and welcomed opportunities to babysit her grandchildren. Her family describes a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother and sister whose care helped shape their lives.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Alan Wubben; children, Jodie Whitehorse (Brandon) and Andrew Farrington (Susan), and their father, Norman Farrington; stepchildren, Mark Wubben (Katie), Mike Wubben and Melissa Wubben (Barry); and grandchildren, Hayden Whitehorse, Romeo Whitehorse and Josiah Wubben.

She is also survived by her siblings, Gary Roewe and Janet Piller (Dan).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lois Roewe; brother, Dale Roewe; and sister-in-law, Susan Thomsen.

Family and friends may share memories and condolences through Marcia’s obituary at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels.
