ARMSTRONG — Jeanne Ann Mogler, 87, an Armstrong native who raised her family in Eagle Grove and later lived in Arizona and Texas, died October 10, 2026. A longtime seamstress, Jeanne found happiness in sewing, quilting and the conversations that kept her close to family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 20, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, 506 Second Ave. in Armstrong. A service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Her final resting place will be Armstrong Grove Cemetery, 1705 County Highway P11 in Armstrong.
Jeanne Ann England was born March 29, 1939, in Armstrong to Mandy and Lyle England. Her family later purchased a farm near Seneca, where she attended school and graduated from Seneca High School. She then moved into working life with a job at Bankers Life in Des Moines.
In 1957, Jeanne married John Kressin. They had three children, Robert, Diana and David. After that marriage ended, she married Robert Mogler. The family made its home in Eagle Grove and welcomed daughters Sandra and Brenda.
While Robert worked as a long-haul truck driver, Jeanne worked as a seamstress. Sewing was both her livelihood and a source of lasting enjoyment. Whether repairing clothing, adjusting a hem or assembling a quilt, she liked putting fabric and thread to useful and creative work.
Jeanne and Robert moved to Arizona in 1992. There, she continued taking on independent sewing work and spent many years working as a fabric clerk at Walmart. Robert died in 2009. In 2019, Jeanne moved to Texas, where she lived during her final years.
Her family’s memories extend well beyond her sewing projects. Jeanne enjoyed porch visits, card games and a good book, with conversation woven into much of what she did. Her outgoing nature and willingness to spend time with others were among the qualities her loved ones treasured, along with her kindness and compassion.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Marcy), Diana, David (Denise), Sandra (Jim) and Brenda (Fred); brothers, Jerry and Richard; and sister, Mary.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Mandy England; husband, Robert Mogler; sister, Barbara; and brother, Roger.
