MASON CITY — Jane Baldwin, 84, of Mason City, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, at Floyd County Medical Center, leaving behind a family she dearly loved and a lifetime of laughter, cherished memories and a personality that was unmistakably her own.

Cremation has taken place. No formal funeral, visitation or burial services have been announced. Family and friends may honor Jane’s memory by sharing condolences or planting a memorial tree in her honor.

Jane was born July 15, 1942, the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Van Horn) Meyer. She grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School with the class of 1959.

Throughout her life, Jane found her greatest purpose and happiness in being a mother. She devoted many years to raising her children, putting their needs first and making family the center of her world. As her children grew older, she began working outside the home, first as a cook and later as a certified nursing assistant. Her compassionate nature and willingness to care for others made her a natural fit for a profession dedicated to helping people.

But Jane was much more than a devoted mother and caregiver. She was a woman with a lively spirit, a sharp wit and a sense of humor that could brighten even an ordinary day. She loved making people laugh, was never shy about speaking her mind and possessed a stubborn streak that those closest to her knew all too well.

Jane was comfortable being herself, and she made no apologies for it. Her playful personality, quick comebacks and unmistakable determination became part of what made her so special to family and friends.

She also knew how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Jane loved playing bingo, coloring, traveling and spending time searching for bargains and unexpected treasures at rummage and garage sales. Whether she was enjoying an afternoon out or simply visiting with loved ones, she appreciated the moments that brought people together.

Above all, Jane treasured the memories made with her children, grandchildren and extended family. Her laughter, stories and caring heart left an impression that will remain with those who knew and loved her.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Tina Holder and Michelle (Walter) Crosby; numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister; special nieces Ronda Enderson and Brenda Seifert; nephew Fred (Steve) Fox; and great-niece Stacy Seifert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy Meyer; her son, James Andrew Holder; her great-granddaughter, Neveah Payne; two brothers; and two sisters.

Jane leaves behind more than memories of a life well lived. She leaves the laughter she inspired, the love she gave so freely and the unmistakable spirit of a woman who faced life on her own terms. For her family and friends, those memories will remain a lasting source of comfort.

Family and friends may read Jane’s full obituary at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, where they may also share memories and condolences in her honor.
