MASON CITY — North Iowa Area Community College student Hailey Stalzer has been selected as one of only 200 students nationwide to receive a 2026 Chime Workforce Scholarship.
Stalzer will receive $1,000 to help cover educational expenses while she completes a certificate or associate degree preparing her to enter a high-demand career field.
The scholarship is funded by the Chime Scholars Foundation and administered by the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation.
Stalzer (pictured at top, via NIACC) has also appeared in NIT’s coverage of students honored on NIACC’s 2026 spring academic lists and the college’s 2025 fall President’s and Dean’s lists.
“At the Chime Scholars Foundation, we believe that career and technical education opens doors to financial progress and long-term opportunity,” foundation president Jeni Izuel said.
Izuel said the organization is proud to support students working to obtain in-demand skills and create better futures for themselves and their families.
The scholarship program supports students pursuing career and technical education at two-year colleges. Its goal is to help students complete workforce credentials and strengthen the pipeline of qualified workers entering fields where employees are urgently needed.
Amanda Karpinski Gorman, executive director of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation, said the organization was thrilled to launch the program and recognize hardworking students pursuing career and technical education.
The Chime Scholars Foundation was established by financial technology company Chime to support opportunities that can help people achieve financial progress.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society recognizing academic achievement among students attending associate degree-granting colleges. The organization has more than 4.4 million members and nearly 1,250 chapters across 11 countries, including approximately 220,000 active college students.
