POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY — An Iowa man was killed in a western Iowa rollover crash after his SUV left an Interstate highway and crashed into a ditch, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The crash involved 31-year-old Dillion Michael Wood of Harlan, who was driving a 2008 GMC Acadia westbound on Interstate 880 near the 9.6-mile marker in Pottawattamie County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol crash report, troopers responded to a rollover crash with a passenger ejection at about 8:09 a.m. on June 17, 2026. The report says Wood’s vehicle was traveling west when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and crashed in the north ditch.
Wood was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle. He was ejected and suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
The report indicates Wood was not wearing a seat belt.
The GMC Acadia was towed by Lyon Towing. The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
