MESERVEY — Robert L. “Chip” Fischer, 88, of Meservey and formerly of Clear Lake, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at Homestead Assisted Living in Mason City.
Chip was born October 11, 1937, and spent his life with deep ties to North Iowa, including Meservey, Clear Lake and the Mason City area. Family and friends will remember him as a longtime North Iowan whose life was shaped by the people and places he called home.
He is survived by his grandsons, Jason Fischer and Jeremy Fischer; great-grandchildren Landen and Zaiyn; stepdaughters Susan Shannon, Linda Goebel, Julie Tackett and Kathy Ostrander; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Elizabeth; his wives, Delores Toft and Doreen Hunt; his son, Alan Fischer; and siblings Bill Fischer and Ann Snell.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Avenue North in Clear Lake. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral chapel.
