SCOTT COUNTY, IOWA – A road rage incident on one of Iowa’s busiest interstates ended in an arrest Tuesday afternoon after a firearm was reportedly brandished at another driver.
On May 5, 2026, at approximately 4:21 p.m., the Scott Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a firearm had been pointed at a victim during a confrontation between motorists.
According to an investigation by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 near the 280-mile marker when the incident occurred. During the dispute, an Iowa resident, identified as Traveon Hall, allegedly produced a handgun and pointed it in the direction of the other driver.
Hall was taken into custody and transported to the Scott County Jail. He has been charged with Assault with a Weapon.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation and arrest by the Iowa State Patrol.
