April 8, 1962 – April 4, 2026

Rhonda Lynn Magnuson, 63, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at her home.

A Celebration of Rhonda’s life will be held at a later date.

Rhonda was born on April 8, 1962, in Mason City, Iowa, to Donald Marvin Magnuson and Doris Elaine (Dixon) Magnuson. She attended and graduated from Mason City High School. In her younger years, she worked as a server at the Athenian and the Northwestern Steakhouse. She later built a career as an insurance underwriter at Liberty Mutual, where she dedicated many years of her life.

Rhonda spent a number of years living in Framingham, Massachusetts, with Paul Bertogli, sharing a loving partnership until his passing. In 2022, she returned to Mason City to be closer to her family.

Rhonda had a vibrant and free-spirited personality. She loved animals, especially her cats, and found happiness in life’s simple moments, including reading, spending time in the sun, and being outdoors. Time with family and friends meant a great deal to her, and she will be remembered for the laughter and memories she shared with those she loved.

She is survived by her siblings, Allen Ray Magnuson, Darla Kay (David) Olson, and Ronald Marvin Magnuson; her nieces, Misty Marie Schroeder, Crystal Mae (Jarret) Pedersen, Jessica, Jennifer, Jamie, and Katie and her nephew Dwight Blanchard (Patty); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kadin, Alex (Haley), Izak (Samantha), Ethan (Jasmyn), Zack, JC (significant other Joel), Grayce (significant other Dylan), and Elainea (Kristian). She is also survived by several great-great nieces and nephews, along with extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Marvin Magnuson and Doris Elaine Dixon, and her lover, Paul Bertogli.
