April 20, 1959 – March 19, 2026

Lynette Sue Eckholt, 66, recently of Mankato, Minnesota, formerly of Mason City, Iowa, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life marked by quiet kindness, compassion, and a deep love for both people and animals.

A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 11495 265th St, Mason City, Iowa.

Lynette was born on April 20, 1959, in Estherville, Iowa, to Roy Roland Lyle and Phyllis Gwendolyn (Beck) Lyle. She grew up in Estherville, where she attended high school. Later she continued her education in Mason City, Iowa, coming just weeks away from completing her degree. Her dedication to helping others guided her career, as she worked in group homes and as a teacher’s aide. In these roles, she gave not only her time, but her heart, offering patience, understanding, and comfort to those who needed it most.

She found great joy in music, which was one of the truest expressions of who she was. Whether playing percussion, sitting at the piano, or stepping in to volunteer her talents when a pianist was needed, Lynette brought warmth and beauty to those around her. Music was her way of connecting, of giving, and of lifting others’ spirits.

Lynette also carried a quiet sense of adventure and a love for travel, always holding onto the hope of seeing more of the world. Above all, she had an extraordinary love for animals. She opened her heart and home to many cats and dogs over the years, caring for them with unwavering devotion. Her beloved companion, Sammi Jo, remained faithfully by her side for 14 years, a reflection of the deep bond she shared with the animals she loved so dearly.

Lynette is survived by her special friends Judy and Kris Cattrysse, Kris Jones, Becky Beyer, Jill and Dale Richards.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Royce Roland Lyle; her husband, Tim Eckholt; and her very close friend, Tony Mehsling.
