Larry was born on January 23, 1937, in Dougherty, Iowa, to Wilber and Gladys (Holding) Crooks. He attended St. Patrick’s High School in Dougherty before proudly serving his country in the United States Army for two years.
On October 17, 1964, Larry was united in marriage to Judy Jackson in Bristow, Iowa. Together they built a life centered on family, and hard work and were blessed with three children.
