JoAnn Evelyn Lease, age 90, passed away February 19, 2026. She was born June 9, 1935, in Chickasaw county, Iowa to Edmund & Evelyn (Zieske) Ommen.
JoAnn married Leon Lease on July 25, 1951. Together, they built a life and worked side by side on the family farm for 73 years, creating a legacy of dedication, partnership, and hard work.
JoAnn found great joy outdoors. She enjoyed searching for unique rocks to add to her rock garden. One of her greatest pleasures was sitting on the swing with Leon, watching birds, observing the crops grow, and taking in the beauty of the countryside they cherished.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; her parents, her sisters, Delores, Roberta, Mary Ann and Arlene; her grandchildren, Brandon and Heidi Lease, Glen Davis; and great-grandson, Emerei Davis.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca Davidson (Mike) of Bethany, MO. Sherry Seehase, of Sumner, David Lease (Lori) of Sumner; her sister Clarine Hartman (Ron) of Readlyn; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made in JoAnn’s name to St. Croix Hospice, Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner or a charity of the donor’s choice.
