Debra Kay Fox, 67, of Sumner, died Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Westgate American Legion. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday.

Debra Kay Fox, 67, of Sumner, died Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Westgate American Legion. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday.

Debra Kay, daughter of Alan and Joan (Thilgen) Hansen was born December 3, 1958, in Austin, Minnesota. The family lived in Austin for a few years, prior to Rochelle, Illinois, West Branch and later Oelwein, where Deb attended Oelwein High School, graduating in 1977. On February 14, 1981, she was united in marriage with Robert Fox at the Little Brown Church, near Nashua. Deb’s working career began at the Sumner Bakery, prior to many years at Atwood in West Union working as a line supervisor. In addition to working at Atwood, she worked at Rod’s Tap in Sumner which later became Snyder’s Tap, then Shippy’s and the Oran Tap. Deb started the A.B.A.T.E. District 23 in the mid 1980’s where she served in many capacities. Later in her career, she worked at Livestock Express in Waucoma. In addition to her involvement with A.B.A.T.E., Deb was a long-time member of M.R.F. Deb enjoyed camping, baking, motorcycle rides, playing cards, but her greatest joy came from time with her grandchildren.

Debra is survived by her husband, Robert of Sumner; children, Robert (Jessica) Fox of Odenton, Maryland, Chad Fox of Sumner, and Krystle (Alyssa Strait) Fox of Conrad; grandchildren, Breandan and BraeLynn Strait-Fox, Jace Blundy, Quinton Grocholski, Jaxson Davis, Lilyana Alderson, Jonathan Berry, Ashley Halstead, Austin Halstead, Kaelann Phelps, Raelynn Stoltenberg, and Lexington and Shaylynn Sawyer; and sisters, Julie (Max) Latham of Alburnett and Lori (Mel) O’Donnell of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Hansen; parents, Alan and Joan Hansen; granddaughter, Felicia Halstead; and nephew, Troy Hansen.
