Susan Delores Orte, age 73, of Forest City, IA, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society in Forest City.
Per her wishes, cremation will take place and no formal services will occur.
Susan Delores (Woldt) was born on March 18, 1952 in Fort Lewis, Washington to parents Robert and Delores (Schmitt) Woldt. She grew up and lived in Auburn, Washington. On December 21, 2002, Susan was united in marriage to Marvin Ray Orte II in Auburn, WA. The couple soon moved to Forest City, IA, to open a bakery with Marvin’s family in Mason City, IA called Orte’s Danish Bakery. She also worked at Bill’s Family Foods for a number of years.
Susan’s passion in life was animals. She trained German Shepherds and also trained many quarter horses throughout the years. She loved all animals. If there was a petting zoo in heaven, that was probably her first stop. Other than animals, Susan also enjoyed crocheting, and was a very talented artist – pastel paintings being her niche.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Woldt.
Susan is survived by her husband of 23 years, Marvin Orte II of Forest City, IA; children, Alexis, Anita, and Heidi, all of Washinton; mother, Delores Woldt of Idaho; siblings, Kathy of Utah, Curt of Minnesota, Lonnie of Idaho, and Daniel of Washington; step son, Matthew Orte of Washington; as well as many other loving extended relatives and friends.
