Ronald Harold Andrews was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on March 30, 1947 to Elmer and Mae (Durschmidt) Andrews. He passed away at his home in Estherville, Iowa on February 4, 2026 at the age of 78.
Ron grew up in the Wallingford and Graettinger areas. He graduated from Graettinger High School and later attended Iowa Lakes Community College. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and served over seas. He returning stateside with a rank of Sargent and was honorably discharged in 1969. Ron returned to the Estherville area where he met and later married Anita Anderson on October 16, 1976. The couple made their home in Estherville, and Ron went to work buying homes to be rented out.
In his younger years, Ron was a member of the Methodist Faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91. Ron was creative and enjoyed working with his hands. He especially enjoyed using epoxy to make river tables, and to finish counter tops and floors. Ron found great joy in home repairs, which came in handy with his 20 plus rentals. Ron will be remembered for helping many people and giving them a hand up in his own way.
Ron is survived by his wife of 49 years Anita of Estherville, his son Jeff Andrews (Marlo Nowacki) of Warren, PA, his daughter Jessica List of Armstrong, his son in law Kevin Woodley of Estherville, and his grandchildren Caidynce Woodley, RaeLynn List, Cora Nowacki, and Madigan Nowacki.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Mae, his daughter Jennifer Woodley, and his brother Richard “Dick” Andrews.
