Lois Oordt was 90 years old when she entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. She was born on May 22, 1935, in Sheldon, Iowa to Ole and Mag (Vos) Mulder.

Lois attended Sheldon High School in Sheldon where she met her high school sweetheart, Wayne Oordt. On June 22, 1953, they were united in marriage at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Lois was a stay-at-home mom when their three daughters were little. When they moved to Charles City she worked at J.C. Penney’s and The Villa Clothing Store. Lois and her sister Joyce Bremer opened the Two Sister’s Café in 1985 where she enjoyed making homemade pies and pastries. Later she worked at the Hy-Vee deli. Lois loved playing cards, golfing and camping. She spent 28 wonderful winters in Mesa, Arizona with Wayne.

She is survived by her husband Wayne of 72 years; her three darling daughters, Lorraine (Doug) Hoeft of Charles City, Renae ( Bob) Virgl of Wahoo, Nebraska, and Tahlene Davis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren: Dustin (Emily) and Brent (Chanisse) Hoeft, Brittany (Alex) Kavan, Tyler (Kelsie) and Derek (Emma)Virgl, Chad (Clara) and Christine Davis; 12 great grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Bremer; along with niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Mag Mulder; granddaughter, Darcee Hoeft; father in-law, Frank Oordt; mother in-law, Allie Cooper; brother in-law, Paul Bremer; and son-in law, Randy Davis.

A private funeral service was held on January 3, 2026, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City.
