FAYETTE, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man hauling a portable toilet while driving his ATV slammed into a parked Chevy Malibu, resulting in thousands in damages.
On October 19, 2025, at approx. 7:17 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a two-vehicle accident on West 7th Street near King Street in Fayette, Iowa. After further investigation, it was determined that 58-year-old Dennis Charles Goddard of Clermont, Iowa, was driving a 2014 Bobcat Toolcat 5600 ATV and hauling a porta potty westbound when he struck an unoccupied parked vehicle. The unoccupied parked vehicle – a Blue 2019 Chevrolet Malibu LT – belonged to 22-year-old Kayla Lynn Kelly of Guttenberg, Iowa.
No injuries were reported, and the Bobcat received no damages. However, the Chevrolet Malibu received approximately $5,000 in damages, and the porta potty received minimal damages estimated at approximately $100.
This accident remains under investigation by police.
