Janice Joyce Foelske, 93, of Tripoli, died Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Willow Winds in Denver.
Private family services will be held.
Janice Joyce, daughter of Emil and Anna (Degelau) Schweer was born September 27, 1932, at the family’s home, rural Tripoli. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Artesian, rural Waverly. Janice received her education in a Country School, rural Tripoli and later at St. Paul’s Parochial School. On May 12, 1957, she was united in marriage with LaVern Foelske at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Artesian. To this union a son was born, Rick. Janice was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a lifetime faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Artesian where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved flowers, gardening, mowing lawn and taking care of her large strawberry patch, freezing many pints every summer. Janice enjoyed traveling to her favorite vacation spot, Colorado. She loved eating pancakes with her homemade strawberry jam, but her greatest joy was time with family, especially her two grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her son, Rick (Kristi) Foelske of Tripoli; grandchildren, Austin (Katie) Foelske and Alyssa (Dakota Hulbert) Foelske; two great-grandchildren, Kasey and James Foelske; and sister-in-law, Marlys Cagley of Nashua.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern; and brother-in-law, Roland Cagley.
