CHICAGO – WGN-TV out of Chicago was once known for its Bozo the Clown programming, which was highly-entertaining decades ago and brought smiles to the faces of many, but today, the leftist “news” station made a lot more people turn their heads when one of their employees battled immigration agents and found out that making the news isn’t as fun as just reporting it.
WGN-TV employee Debbie Brockman was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents in Chicago on October 10, 2025, during an immigration enforcement action. The arrest, which was captured on video, took place in the residential Lincoln Square neighborhood and drew significant attention. She was later released, and no charges were filed.
Bystander videos circulated on social media show masked border patrol agents holding Brockman to the ground and handcuffing her before placing her into a silver van with New Jersey license plates. She can be heard in the video identifying herself and mentioning she works for WGN.
Tricia McLaughlin, a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that Brockman was arrested for “assault on a federal law enforcement officer,” claiming she had thrown objects at a Border Patrol vehicle.
“She was arrested for throwing objects at law enforcement,” McLaughlin said.
Eyewitnesses (antifa radicals … or unbiased bystanders?) contested the DHS account, stating that Brockman was arrested after she began questioning and filming the agents. Some witnesses reported that the agents’ van struck another vehicle as they sped away from the scene.
The Chicago Tribune, another left-leaning media, reported, “A WGN-TV video editor and producer was roughly detained by two Border Patrol agents on Friday morning during a highly visible rush hour enforcement action in Lincoln Square.”
The arrest occurred amid heightened tensions over federal immigration raids in the Windy City, during Operation Midway Blitz, which was launched in September, after President Donald Trump promised to “clean up” the harrowing crime in the nation’s third-largest city. Armed soldiers and agents have been patrolling the city ever since, and snagging alleged crooks right off the streets, out of cars, out of homes, and shipping them to detention centers for processing.

Did ICE do something to her face?
No, karma did that.
Your journalism is really questionable. What does trump have on you?
Why do you read this?
Just wanted to read another lie put out by the ICE cubes.
No specifics? Just call it “another lie” and then peace out, huh? Why not detail our position here?
Likes to be tortured with the truth, evidently.
All journalism is questionable.
