Robert E. “Bob” Cummings, 59, of Mason City, IA, formerly of McIntire, IA, died Monday, September 29, 2025, at his home at One Vision.
Memorial services for Bob will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Riceville. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Riceville.
Robert Emmett Cummings was born in Osage, Iowa, on April 13, 1966, son of Thomas and Doris (Hanson) Cummings. Bob grew up in the McIntire/Riceville area, graduating from Osage High School. After graduating high school, Bob moved to Opportunity Village in Mason City. Over the years the staff and residents at Opportunity Village now One Vision became a second family to Bob. He worked for Stellar Manufacturing sorting various building materials.
Bob looked forward to every family function that was held. He had a special love for his brothers. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with them, making them laugh with his different sense of humor, and cracking a cold beer with them. He liked to eat out with family and friends at KFC and Pizza Ranch. Bob was the best “air guitarist” and would replay the song if his performance was interrupted. He loved listening to music and watching Western movies and tv shows.
Bob is survived by his siblings, Mike Cummings of McIntire, IA, Marlys (Dennis) Mayer of Las Vegas, NV, Pat Fuller of Waterloo, IA, Judy Carlson of Riceville, IA, Spike Cummings of Dallas, TX, Sharon (Gary) Zobeck of Elma, IA, Steve (Michelle) Cummings of Waterloo, IA, John (Lori) Cummings of Rockwell, TX, Tom (Michelle) Cummings of Riceville, IA, brother-in-law Dennis Miller of Waterville, MN, and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mavis Miller, brother Kenny Cummings, sisters-in-law Lois Cummings and Dee Cummings, brothers-in-law Doug Carlson and Mike Fuller, nephew Michael Cummings, niece Allison Miller, Clifford Wuertz, and Cliff’s daughter Pamela Wingert.
