Teana Marie Massee was born in Mason City, Iowa, daughter of Kirk and Caroline (Jacobsen) Massee. She passed away unexpectedly September 14, 2025 at her home.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Teana attended Nora Springs High School. For many years, she worked at Jo-Stop Gas Station with the Diamond Jo Casino. Teana was someone you never forgot once you met her. She had a big heart, a bold personality, and a deep love for the people in her life. She was the kind of person who would drop everything to help you, often giving more of herself than she had to spare. Her greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Angel, and her two grandchildren, Baylee and Kai. Being a mom and grandma came naturally to her, and there was never a day she didn’t call just to say hi, ask what they were up to, or tell them how much she loved them. Her family was her world, and she made sure they felt it every single day. One of her favorite family traditions was playing Skip-Bo, a game she learned from her grandmother. Over time, it became more than just a card game—it was a ritual of connection and love, passed down through generations. Sitting around the table playing Skip-Bo meant laughter, storytelling, and time spent together. Those moments meant everything to her, and to those who shared them. Teana didn’t sugarcoat things. She said what she meant and meant what she said. You always knew where you stood with her but you also always knew you were loved.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Angel (Dillon Erickson) Massee; grandchildren, Baylee and Kai; mother, Caroline Massee; sister, Anita Wendel and her children, Sky Massee and Robyn Wendel; brother, Daniel Massee; as well as many aunts, uncles, friends and extended family.

Preceding her in death is her father, Kirk; both maternal and paternal grandparents; Aunt Diana Gilbert; Aunt Carmen Bryant; and her best friend, Jennifer Dutcher.
