College Basketball: Iowa State Cyclone star guard Tamin Lipsey out for weeks with knee injury

AMES - Iowa State starting point guard Tamin Lipsey suffered a Grade 2 MCL Sprain to his right knee in practice on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Lipsey will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.

AMES – Iowa State starting point guard Tamin Lipsey suffered a Grade 2 MCL Sprain to his right knee in practice on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Lipsey will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.

Lipsey, a 2024 All-American and two-time All-Big 12 selection, averaged 10.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game last season. Iowa State’s all-time steals leader with 237, Lipsey has averaged 10.2 points, 4.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game over the 103 career starts leading the Cyclones.

Iowa State and Head Coach T.J. Otzelberger offered no further comment on the injury.
