Pamela Hunt, 71, of Dows, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at MercyOne Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery in rural Popejoy followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Popejoy Park shelter house. Memorials may be sent to the Surls Funeral Home, 505 Stevens St, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.
Pam was born in Iowa Falls to Nathan Edward and Norma Jean (Rash) Hunt on June 21, 1954. She attended Alden schools graduating in 1972. After high school Pam traveled to Chicago where she was employed as a nannie by a family with small children. Later she returned to Alden to help her widower brother with her three nieces. She then went on to work as a waitress at several local truck stops and the Down Home Restaurant in Dows. She also worked at the Dows Community Grocery Store.
Pam is survived by her two brothers, Steven (Linda) Hunt of Ankeny and Douglas (Becky) Hunt of Iowa Falls as well as her special friend Lance Urich of Dows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael Hunt, sisters Barbra and Rhonda and niece Michelle.
