HAWKEYE – This Northern Iowa man is guilty of attempted burglary and false imprisonment, but avoided prison in a plea deal.

On May 9, 2025, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested Perry Phillip Gaede, age 66 of Hawkeye, on a valid Fayette County warrant for Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree (D Felony), False Imprisonment (Serious Misdemeanor), 3 Counts of Harassment 3rd degree (Simple Misdemeanors) and Assault (Simple Misdemeanor).

Gaede was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held on a $11,000 cash only bond and awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge.

In a later plea deal, Gaede (pictured at top) was guilty of both crimes and sentenced on September 15 to a suspended 5-year prison sentence, 5 years of probation and a bills owed to Iowa courts for $1502.40 and $667.75.
