Patricia Corson, age 71, of Boone, passed away on September 10, 2025. Her wishes were to be cremated, and no services are planned at this time. Inurnment will take place in the Boone Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
Patricia Doreen Corson was born on November 24, 1953, the daughter of Gene and Mary (Rogers) Corson. She grew up in McKinleyville, California and graduated from McKinleyville High School in 1971. She later moved back to Iowa, where she dedicated 25 years of service before retiring from the Woodward State Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Mary Corson; her brother, Robert Corson; and a great-nephew, Spencer Corson. Patricia is survived by her beloved spouse, Janis E. Wheatley-Corson, and her brothers, Marvin (Cindy) Corson and William (Bonnie) Corson; sister-in-law, Gayle Corson, and several nieces and nephews.
