Jane Kathryn Reinsmoen, 75, died Friday, September 5, 2025 from complications of rheumatoid arthritis. Cremation has taken place and per Jane’s wishes, no services are planned.
Jane was born May 29, 1950 to Orland and Lois Reinsmoen. She was 100% Norwegian and always proud of her family’s heritage. Jane loved growing up on the farm, where there were always new adventures and areas to explore. Always the tomboy, she lived on her bicycle and graduated to motorcycles when she turned 16.
Jane held several jobs, her first job was at Iowa Kemper Insurance, where she met her husband, Joe Brandt. They shared a son and daughter but divorced after 11 years. Her second husband, Paul Heilskov, died of cancer after 11 years of marriage.
Jane always felt very fortunate to be hired at Principal Financial. She retired from there after 25 years in 2007.
Jane is survived by son, Jeff (Chris) Brandt, daughter, Molly (Craig) Haakenstad; four grandchildren, John Brandt, Allison Brandt, Brandt Haakenstad, and Skye Haakenstad; significant other, Kurt Carlson; and sisters, Mary Reinsmoen and Molly Iverson. Also, her two fur babies, Sam and Buddy.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Joe Brandt, husband Paul Heilskov, sister Laura Reinsmoen, brothers Mark and Robert Reinsmoen, and several grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Jane was thankful for the wonderful life she had. Rheumatoid Arthritis cut it short but she had 75 great years.
