Diane J. Peterson, age 78, of Carpenter, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa. Diane Jean Rosenberg was born on July 6, 1947, in Mason City, Iowa, to Glenn and Arlene (Schulz) Rosenberg. She graduated from Carpenter High School in 1965. Diane was united in marriage to Richard Peterson, and the couple was blessed with three sons. They later divorced. Diane worked for 25 years at Fleet Guard in Lake Mills, Iowa, until her retirement. She enjoyed riding in her golf cart with her dogs, shopping trips to Mason City, and holding up traffic on her road trips. She was lovingly known as “Grandma Diane” throughout Carpenter. Diane liked watching her TV shows, especially “Walker Texas Ranger” and “I Love Lucy,” and playing board and card games with her family and friends. We will love and miss her forever.
Diane is survived by her sons, Wes (Corine) Peterson of Tustin, California, Bryce (Amy Jorgensen) Peterson of Northwood, Iowa, and Ty Peterson of Carpenter, Iowa; grandchildren, Blake Peterson, Cody Peterson, Jenna (Colby) Jorgensen Berg, Taylor (Seth Moore) Jorgensen; great-granddaughter, Brynlee Berg; sister, Sharon (Jim) Parcel; nieces, Michelle (Kelly) Rush, Melanie (Kevin) Bigger; great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Glenn and Arlene; nephew, Jason Parcel; aunts and uncles; and cousin, Perry Rosenberg.
The funeral service for Diane will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Grafton Cemetery, Grafton, Iowa. Hoff Celebrations – Schroeder Chapel of St. Ansgar is assisting the family with arrangements.
