Roberta Jean Allen, the daughter of Lola Mae Rubendall and John L. Ingertson, was born on January 18, 1941. She was raised and educated in Clarion, IA.
On March 29, 1958, Roberta united in marriage with Merle Floyd Allen. They made their home in Eagle Grove and raised seven unique children, nurturing their independence while instilling values of accountability with unwavering love.
Roberta was a woman of many talents. She balanced the joys of motherhood with her passion for serving her community. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own and run the Coffee Nook in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She also channeled her creative side by leading and mentoring young girls as the Director of Girl Scouts. Despite her busy schedule, she always found time to be a childcare provider and to travel the country to visit family and friends.
Roberta Jean Allen, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at her home surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle F. Allen; her children, Bret F. Allen and Debra J. Allen; and her great-granddaughter, Brooklyn J. Stark.
Survivors include her children: Julie M. Stark of Clarion, IA. Bradley D. Allen of Eagle Grove, IA. Denita M. Donahue and her husband, Dave Donahue, of Apple Valley, MN. Alicia R. Attig and husband Doug Attig of Eagle Grove. Melinda K. Davis and husband Mat Davis of Nevada, IA. Her daughter-in-law, Lorrie J. Allen of Eagle Grove; 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
Her family loves her deeply, and her memory is cherished forever.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 30, at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Private burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion, IA.
