Connie (Jacobs) Thompson, 68, of Mason City, passed away on July 27, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center with her family by her side.
Connie Jean was born July 25, 1957, in Mason City to Dean and Bonnie (Court) Jacobs and graduated from Mason City High School in 1975. She was born and raised in Mason City. She grew up alongside her two brothers, Douglas and Robert Jacobs.
Though her life took her to various places over the years including Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Florida, Connie maintained strong ties to her Iowa roots. Throughout her career, she held positions at Iowa Power, Computer Associates, Giant Grocery, CVS, Publix, and most recently, Huber Supply, where she was known for her diligence and attention to detail.
Connie had a deep love for music. She played the piano beautifully and also enjoyed playing the flute and oboe in her younger years. She found great joy in spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren more than anything.
Connie is survived by her parents; her daughter, Ashley (David) Vorell, and Ashley’s children, Kamryn and Kavery; her son, Christopher (Jenni) Thompson, and their children, Kaitlyn and McClane. She is also survived by her brother, Doug Jacobs; sister-in-law, Brenda Jacobs; and nieces and nephew, Benjamin, Katherine, Anna, and Isabel.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Jacobs.
