Following school, Marvin farmed and became a member of the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. He continued to farm near West Bend with his father, and eventually on his own. On September 17, 1961, Marvin was united in marriage to Janice Will in Fairmont, Minnesota. Together they had 4 children. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Whittemore. He enjoyed ballroom and square dancing with his wife in their early married years, as well as playing cards with friends in a card club. God was a big part of Marvin’s life, and he was very active within his Church. He was also a member of the American Legion and served as adjutant for many years. Later, his biggest joy came from the grandchildren he was blessed with.
