Eunice Darlene Potts, 89, of Buckingham, Iowa, passed away on July 16, 2025, at Creekside in Grundy Center, Iowa. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Engelkes Chapel, Grundy Center. A private inurnment will be held at the Geneseo Cemetery in Tama County.
Eunice was born on August 9, 1935, in rural McIntire, Iowa, daughter of Fred and Mathilda Gerhartz Blake. She married Larry Potts on May 14, 1955, at St. Mel’s Catholic Church in McIntire.
She worked at the George O’Donnell Loan Company in Waterloo and was later employed by the Waterloo Schools at Orange Elementary for 29 years.
Eunice loved to garden. She loved wildlife and animals, especially her cats. Her true joy in life was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Terry (Heather) of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Randy (Pam) of Forest City, Iowa; four grandsons, Andrew, Landon, Maclean and Gavin; 3 great-grandchildren, Nelle, Colette, and Luke.
Eunice is preceded in death by her parents; son Tracy; sisters, Sylvia Kesten, Genevieve Ruemmele, and Virginia Bathen; brother, Vern Blake.
