Paul Scott, son of Rex and Joyce (Ideker) Niles was born on March 14, 1958, at Palmer Hospital in West Union. Paul grew up on a farm north of Fayette, where his love of the outdoors began. Paul was a lifetime farmer in the Fayette and Wadena area. He married Kathy Yoe and together they had a son, Justin. The couple would later divorce. Paul enjoyed playing cards and socializing with people at Barney’s in Wadena, making many lasting friendships. He found peace in the outdoors, whether it be fishing, camping, trapping, hunting, or digging roots. Paul loved the simplicity and tranquility of nature but one of his greatest joys was the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his children and their spouses, Jason (Sarah) Niles of Fayette, Travis (Kristin) Niles of West Branch, Kaleena (Pete) Bettmeng of Oelwein and Justin Niles of Grundy Center; eight grandchildren, Payton, Kellan, Paisley and Kenley Niles, Hunter and Andrew Niles, and Aaliyah and Haidan Bettmeng; siblings, Linda Zody of Merriam, Kansas, Jim (Myrna) Niles of Sumner, and Janet (Bruce) Orr of Randalia; sister-in-law, Carol Niles of Fayette; and many nieces and nephews.
