The Board of Supervisors of Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, met in special session pursuant to adjournment at 3:00 p.m. Present: Chairman Chris Watts, Vice Chairman
Casey Callanan, Supervisor Carl Ginapp, and various members of the public.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the potential for a merger of Workforce Development.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:38 p.m.
Various tabulations, reports, correspondence and other documents that were presented at today’s meeting are placed on file with the supplemental minutes.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
July 7, 2025
The Board of Supervisors of Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, met in regular session pursuant to adjournment. Present: Chairman Chris Watts, Vice Chairman Casey Callanan, Supervisor Carl Ginapp, and various members of the public.
Chairman Watts convened the meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Callanan moved with Ginapp seconding, to approve today’s agenda and the minutes for the June 30, 2025 regular session. Motion passed unanimously.
Public comment session was held.
Ginapp moved with Callanan seconding, to approve claims. Motion passed unanimously.
Callanan moved with Ginapp seconding, to approve the payroll register for period ending 06/28/2025. Motion passed unanimously.
Callanan moved with Ginapp seconding, to approve the Recorder’s Quarterly Report of Fees. Motion passed unanimously.
Ginapp moved with Callanan seconding, to approve the Sheriff’s Monthly Report of Fees. Motion passed unanimously.
Callanan moved with Ginapp seconding, to authorize the Chair to sign a detour agreement the Iowa DOT for bridge replacement on US 65 over the West Fork of the Cedar River between Rockwell and Sheffield to begin in 2026.
Motion passed unanimously.
John Rosengren, Engineer with Bolton & Menk, provided an overview of the Drainage District 57 open channel cleanout project. At 10:05 a.m. Chairman Watts opened
the Public Hearing regarding this project. Engineer Rosengren reviewed the project, damages, and work that was performed.
Callanan moved with Ginapp seconding, to close the public hearing. Motion passed unanimously. Public hearing closed at 10:09 a.m.
Ginapp moved with Callanan seconding, to accept the work and approve the payments for damages as recommended by the Engineer. Motion passed unanimously.
Chairman Watts recognized Heather Mathre, Finance Director, for her Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Financial
Officer’s Association and Auditor Wedmore presented Mathre with a certificate. Callanan moved with Callanan seconding, to adjourn at 10:11 a.m. Motion passed unanimously.
