November 12, 1929 – June 27, 2025

Phyllis Muller, age 95, of Nora Springs, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Phyllis was born on November 12, 1929, the daughter of George and Gladys Burhite. She was the oldest of three sisters and grew up with a strong sense of family that guided her throughout her life. A proud graduate of Little Cedar High School, Phyllis built a life marked by love, resilience, and generosity.

She was united in marriage to Verne Roberts, and together they made their home on the family farm near Rudd, Iowa. They were the proud parents of four children: Daryl, Jerry, Keith, and Karen. Phyllis worked for many years at Decker Meat Packing Plant, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

After Verne’s passing in 1980, Phyllis found companionship again and married Bob Muller on February 2, 1998. Together, they shared years of travel, laughter, and love.

Phyllis had a warm and social spirit. She loved embroidery, playing cards, and hosting card parties. She enjoyed traveling, wintering in Arizona, and spending time with family in Texas and Nebraska. One of her greatest joys was hosting her grandchildren during the summer—taking them to the movies, parks, and swimming – creating treasured memories. She also loved camping, gardening, and growing her own vegetables, taking pride in the beauty she cultivated at home.

Above all, Phyllis loved her family beyond measure. Her strength, kindness, and joy for life will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her daughter, Karen (JD) Parker, Greenville, TX; grandchildren, Leah (Matthew) Denomme, Sonja Culp, Linda (Chad) Jackson, and Dustin Clapp; great grandchildren, Taylor, Maia, Leila, Jude, Penny, Rayne, and Teagan; great great grandson, Blaze; sister, Barbara DeVary; beloved friends, Jim and Rhonda Howe; and her extended relatives and many friends.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her husbands, Verne Roberts and Bob Muller; sons, Daryl Roberts, Jerry Roberts, and Keith Roberts; son in law, Dale Herren; and sister, Joan Polsdofer.

A memorial service celebrating Phyllis’ life will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 1, 2025 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
