August 19, 1945 – July 2, 2025

Donna Livezey, 79, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral service for Donna will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City with Pastor Don Preston of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will occur an hour prior to the service.

Donna Jean (Ellis) Livezey, the daughter of Merlin and Bernice (Wright) Ellis, was born on August 19, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended and graduated from East Des Moines schools. Donna was united in marriage to William Heathcote, Sr. and to this union three children were born: William, Jr., Jessica, and Karen. The couple later divorced. She then married Mark Green and later divorced.

Donna worked in housekeeping with motels and at Krispy Krust Bread Company in Des Moines where she met the love of her life, George Livezey. The two were married on September 1, 1984, in Des Moines. Donna was a member of the Seventh Day Adventists Church and attended in Des Moines, Waterloo, and Charles City. Donna loved listening to Elvis. She enjoyed playing Bingo, bowling, fishing, and attending the county fair. She also enjoyed watching her daily shows of Wheel of Fortune, Let’s Make A Deal, Price is Right, and many soap operas.

Donna is survived by her husband, George; children: William, Jr. Heathcote, Jessica Heathcote, and Karen Heathcote; one grandchild; sisters, Genevive “Jenny” Mundy and Sharon Sader; stepbrother, Marian Buddy Legg; and step sisters-in-law, Pam (Robert Mink) Shadow, Karen Johnson, Cheryl Ray Shadow, and Edith Ann (Bill) Stinnel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Springer and Lucy Dawson; brothers, Thomas Ellis, Arthur Ellis, Sr., and Robert Ellis; and nieces, Veronica Henderson and Katie Straight.
