FAYETTE COUNTY – This Northern Iowa drug offender out of prison on parole decided to test the limits of his 2012 Chrysler van as cops closed in and found out that 10 miles at 80 miles per hour was all she had left.
On June 2, 2025, at approximately 4:01 AM, a Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country van in the area of Highway 187 and F Avenue. The driver, later identified as 43-year-old Joshua Levendusky of Oelwein, failed to stop and led law enforcement on a chase at speeds of 80 miles per hour or more for approximately 10 miles until the engine of the vehicle he was driving gave out.
Levendusky was captured, arrested, and charged with the following crimes:
– Class D Felony Eluding
– Driving While Suspended
– Operating a Vehicle Without an Ignition Interlock Device
– Driving without SR22 Insurance
– Speeding
– Failure to Obey Stop Sign
Levendusky (pictured at top) is being held at the Fayette County Jail on $5000 bond. He is currently on parole for prior drug offenses.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Oelwein Police Department.
