Rockwell – Michelle Marie Rocheleau, 51, of Rockwell, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City, surrounded by love.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.
Born on January 17, 1974, in Charles City, Michelle Marie Robbins was the beloved daughter of Duane and Christine (Boyd) Robbins. She grew up with a spirited heart and graduated from high school in Charles City, where her sassy spark first began to shine. Michelle remained close to home, eventually settling in Rockwell, where she dedicated many years of hard work and pride to her role at Curries.
Michelle was never one to sit still. Whether lending a hand or fixing something around the house, she had a natural knack for being handy and helpful. Her energy was matched only by her creativity—she found great joy in woodworking, building, and staining, always leaving her personal touch on every project. Outside, her hands were just as busy, tending lovingly to her four flower beds and experimenting with vegetable gardening. She especially loved making her signature hot pepper jelly, which was always a hit with friends and family.
One of Michelle’s most cherished relationships began in the most unexpected way—through an accidental text message that led to a deep connection with Robin Hjelle. That small moment turned into a meaningful four-year partnership. The two became inseparable, sharing a life filled with laughter, support, and teamwork. Michelle loved nothing more than helping Robin with handyman projects—always eager to be his sidekick, ready to assist however she could.
Known for her spunky personality and quick wit, Michelle had a presence that lit up any room. She was sassy, spirited, and full of laughter—a true joy to be around. Her warmth, independence, and vibrant soul made her someone you simply couldn’t forget.
Michelle’s greatest pride was her family. She leaves behind her loving mother, Christine Robbins; her sons, Zachary Rocheleau, Dylan Robbins, and Riley Rocheleau, who each carry a piece of her strength and spark; her devoted partner, Robin Hjelle; her brother, Rick Robbins; and her uncles, Vernon and Robert Boyd.
Welcoming her into eternal peace is her father, Duane Robbins, whose memory she always carried close.
Michelle’s legacy of love, resilience, and sass will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
