Esther E. Lahmann, 94, of Tripoli, died Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Tripoli Nursing & Rehab.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Crane Creek, rural Tripoli with Pastor Jared McLey officiating. Interment will follow at Fremont Cemetery, rural Tripoli. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 18th at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Tripoli and for one hour preceding services at the Church on Thursday.
Esther Emma, daughter of Arthur and Ida (Boeckmann) Tegtmeier was born March 9, 1931, at the family’s home, Fremont Township, rural Tripoli. She was baptized on April 17, 1931, at St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Tripoli and confirmed on March 25, 1945, at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Crane Creek, rural Tripoli. Esther attended country school, rural Tripoli. On April 29, 1967, she was united in marriage with Arlon Lahmann at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Crane Creek. Esther began her working career at Ace Michael’s Grocery Store in Tripoli, prior to Tonne’s, later at an Egg Candling business in New Hampton, and completed her career in housekeeping at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. She was a long time faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church-Crane Creek. Esther enjoyed gardening, baking, quilting, crocheting, and canning. She was a loving, kind-hearted and hard working woman.
Esther is survived by her daughters, Diane Hyde of Sumner and Janell (Steve) Pullin of Waterloo; sons, David (Joyce) Lahmann of Sumner, Jerry (Marilyn) Lahmann, Greg Lahmann, and Rod (De Ann) Lahmann, all of Tripoli; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arlon; daughter, Ann Schwartz; son, Frederick; grandson, Justin Lahmann; and sister, Dorothea Tegtmeier.
