CHARLES CITY – This unlicensed, uninsured female Charles City driver out tooling around in her fancy Cadillac collided with an innocent parked car and caused considerable damage, costing her over a grand owed to Iowa courts.
According to Charles City police, the incident took place on the afternoon of June 6, 2025. They say that at 2:05 PM that day, uninsured and unlicensed driver Erica Griffin, age 34 of Charles City, was joyriding around town in her silver Cadillac LL when she caused a collision. Officers with the Charles City police department were called to the 500 block of Allison Street to investigate the incident. Apparently, Griffin and her Cadillac were pulling into a parking space when she struck a properly-parked 2018 Chrysler Pacifica owned by 48-year-old Michelle Sweet of Charles City.
As a result of the incident, both vehicles incurred equal damage totaling $3,000.
Due to her shoddy driving and ignorance of Iowa law, Griffin was cited for no driver’s license and no insurance. Iowa court records show that for having no valid driver’s license, she was ordered to pay $354.00, and for having no insurance, she was ordered to pay $796.75.
Why is it important that the driver is female? Would it be “Unlicensed, uninsured male Charles City Cadillac driver collides with parked car” if that were the case?
